DECEMBER 2002

CURSE CD'S RELEASED!
Curse's debut album and single, "Pull My Daisy"  are now available. Our self-titled debut CD contains 10 CURSE originals, plus a radio edit of "Starfall." It was produced by the wonderfully talented Wharton Tiers at Fun City Studios, NYC. Wharton was great to work with . . . he's produced so many bands that influenced us . . . Sonic Youth, Nick Cave, Swans, Helmet, etc. He got great sounds and performances out of us! Complete lyrics for all songs included.
Of special note is "Graveyard Shuffle," a silly/campy "gothabilly" song about hanging out in a graveyard, and the various forms of mischief one might get up to while there. Noted jazz composer/ musician David Amram laid down an amazing New Orleans-style piano part and a pennywhistle solo that will send chills up your spine. Guitar guru Marc Ribot also played on "Graveyard," which, if you are a fan of his work on Tom Waits' recordings, you will NOT want to miss.

The Curse CD single includes the first studio recording of the beat generation classic "Pull My Daisy" in over thirty years, with composer David Amram on piano and French horn, and Marc Ribot on lead guitar. CD also includes the memorable Curse original "Graveyard Shuffle" with the same musicians but different instrumentation. Includes full liner notes by David Amram.

6/2002
May the 6th, 2002, Curse went into Manhattan Beach Recording Studios in New York to record "Pull My Daisy," featuring composer David Amram on piano and percussion.  The last studio version David recorded was back in 1971. David also played piano and pennywhistle on "Graveyard Shuffle," a Curse original.  "Pull My Daisy" by Curse featuring David Amram will be released as a single at the end of 2002.

The song "Pull My Daisy" was written for a 1959 independent film by Robert Frank and Alfred Leslie, which was narrated by Jack Kerouac. The cast includes Gregory Corso, Allen Ginsberg, and Larry Rivers, among others.

In other exciting news: The members of Curse have recently been drawn by acclaimed comic-book artist Peter Bagge, in a graveyard scene that is both funny and evocative of the band's zany brand of intensity.
